The History of Price Farms, LLC...
Price Farms, LLC was established in 1964 when J. Truman Price
first came to the San Luis Valley with his wife
Cozette. Truman and Cozette moved to Colorado from the Texas
Panhandle where Truman had worked with his father on his father's
farm. With all the knowledge that Truman's father passed on to
him, Truman and Cozette started farming
Russet Potatoes on two circles of ground. (For those of
you unfamiliar with farm jargon, a circle is approximately 160 acres of
land.) Truman was wise with his money, and knew how to put
in a hard day's labor. They put everything they had into the
farm, and their endurance paid off. After a few successful
years, more land was purchased, as well as the utilization of more
modern equipment. Truman understood the land, took appropriate
risks and today has become a successful farmer in the San Luis
Valley. The farm operation has since grown to over 2400
acres! Truman and Cozette raised two children, J. Kent Price, and
Duane T. Price. They passed on their love of farming to both boys who
now continue the family tradition ... As the farm continues to grow, Truman, Kent, and Duane consistently
work together and create new opportunities and expand this heart grown
operation. |
